Jenson Button hopes that Abu Dhabi will be the F1 Championship decider

05.04.2009 - Abu Dhabi -

After Jenson Button spiced up the Formula 1 2009 season through his unexpected wins at the Australian and Malaysian Grand Prixs, it seems that the Abu Dhabi F1 GP 2009 on the 1st of November 2009 will be indeed one of the most exciting F1 races this year.

And today Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management (ADMM), the organisers of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix are delighted with the local and international response to ticket sales, which went on release earlier this week.
Richard Cregan, CEO of ADMM, commented: “We’re very happy with ticket sales so far because they prove that local community and thousands more around the world want to be a part of this very special Grand Prix- but the house is not full yet.”

Mr Cregan was keen to impress that there was still good availability for the event: “I’d like to stress that we still have tickets left- we are not yet completely sold out, so anyone who is still thinking of coming, I urge you to buy soon. Great seats still remain, particularly in the South Grandstand and the Support Pit Building from where spectators can witness the cars race through eight turns and enjoy the view across the Marina, Yacht Club and Yas Marina Hotel.”
He added, “The design of Yas Marina Circuit is unique in that everyone is guaranteed a fantastic seat- there are no seats with poor views. From each spot spectators can see at least 30% of the track and we will have giant TV screens on display.”

Jenson Button, Brawn GP Driver and the winner of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne last week said ‘It’s the last race so it will obviously be exciting especially if the championship is still to be decided by then. Abu Dhabi will be a great finale to the F1 season’.

Speaking about the day tickets went on sale, Mr Cregan said: “On Monday we witnessed how keen the people of Abu Dhabi, the UAE and beyond are to be a part of this event. At our ticket kiosk in Marina Mall we had a queue of people from early in the morning to late at night wanting to purchase tickets for this 3 day festival. One fan had travelled from Jordan with his wife to be one of the first in line- which is astounding! Internationally, we have seen great interest via the website. We haven’t collated all our data yet, but the evidence so far is that we will have a healthy contingent of representatives from abroad. It’s very exciting and we want to thank everyone for the amazing response.”
