SAIC MOTOR launches Maxus range at 2015 Dubai International Motor Show

Maxus, one of SAIC MOTOR’s brands, revealed a number of models at the Dubai International Motor Show 2015.

The launch showcased the latest models and technology from China to consumers in the Middle East.

As one of the first Chinese light commercial vehicle (LCV) company to enter the Middle East market, Maxus is introducing several major models to Middle East consumers. The Flagship G10 model made its market debut at the Motor Show, alongside the all-electric wide-body light bus EV80, and the V80 minibus.

The Middle East is undoubtedly one of the most important emerging markets globally, offering great potential.

In line with China’s “The Belt and Road Initiative,” MAXUS is committed to developing high quality products and meeting the demands of more consumers in the Middle East market.

Since 2013, SAIC MOTOR has successfully entered many core markets in the region, including Iran, one of the eight largest automobile markets in the world, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is the second largest automobile market in GCC, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.

MAXUS products are now operational in the commuting and logistics industries of the Middle East, and have gained a 10% share in the wide-body light bus market.

The brand new G10 flagship version features a combination of a 2.0T direct injection spark ignition engine and a ZF 6AT transmission with a maximum power output of 225hp, allowing it to easily deal with multiple rough road conditions.

With the interior magic box design and considerable space in the 2nd and 3rd rows, the flagship model delivers a comfortable travel experience for Middle East consumers. This load capacity of this vehicle is a maximum 2500L, which is much larger than the other rival mainstream models

In addition to the brand new G10, the other star product from Maxus was the V80. As the key model in Middle East, the V80 is equipped with a diesel engine utilising 3rd generation high pressure common rail technology, direct injection and a variable geometry turbocharger.

The power performance and controllability has been improved comprehensively with a maximum power output of 100kW and maximum torque of 330N.m. The V80 also delivers extremely low fuel consumption of 54.L/100km.

As an important part of the commercial vehicle segment of SAIC MOTOR, Maxus has sold 24,896 vehicles from January to September representing year-on-year growth of 171%, including 3,083 exported vehicles.

Appearing at the Dubai International Motor Show 2015 is a new start for Maxus, which is looking to accelerate and promote change and improvements in the commercial vehicle industry by adopting internationally recognized leading technologies. There is no doubt that the presence of the Maxus range at the Dubai International Motor Show is the starting point for Maxus to participate in top level competition on a global basis.

SAIC MOTOR Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. is fully -owned subsidiary of SAIC MOTOR Corporation Limited.
