ABU DHABI F1 GP 2009

Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya 2 ( AD Sport 2) secures rights to air 2009 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

It seems that F1 fans across the Middle East will not suffer when looking for an Arabic TV channel which broadcasts the first Abu Dhabi F1 race in Formula 1 history.
After F1 fans suffered a lot before with the Bahrain TV and its live broadcast of the 2009 F1 season, it is more likely that they will now enjoy a professional coverage on Abu Dhabi Sports 2 TV channel, at least for the F1 race which will be staged in Abu Dhabi next week (1.11.2009).

Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya Channels today (25.10.2009) announced that Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya 2 will be broadcasting live coverage of the 2009 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which will take place from October 30th to November 1st at the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi. The Yas Marina Circuit will witness the last race of the Formula 1 season which is viewed by millions of fans around the world.

Mohamed Najeeb, Head of Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya Channels said: “Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya 2 will provide complete coverage to motor sport lovers in the UAE and beyond. We see our role as showcasing this momentous event to enhance the enjoyment of the fans.

Starting October 26th Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya 2 will introduce a programming line-up that will include live coverage of practice sessions, the qualifying and the final race in Arabic, in addition to sidelights that will cover various related events in the capital city. The channel will also cover the GP2 Asia and Supercup Porsche which will also take place on Yas Marina Circuit.

In an effort to build up excitement around the Grand Prix Abu Dhabi Al Riyadiya 2 has been broadcasting documentaries highlighting the history of Formula 1, in order to inform and educate its viewers about the sport. A show called Abu Dhabi 2009 will also document the preparations at the Yas Marina circuit

Najeeb added: “Our coverage will begin with an open day event and our studios will also host guests from the Grand Prix organizing committee, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Abu Dhabi Police, and several other government divisions that will be participating in the event.

Although British F1 driver Jenson Button has already clinched the F1 drivers championship title and the constructors championship title for his Brawn GP team last weekend at the 2009 F1 Brazil race, we still recommend viewers and F1 fans to either visit the Abu Dhabi F1 GP or watch it live on TV as it will offer a unique experience not available anywhere else in the F1 calendar. Beside being the first day/night race in F1 history it, the 2009 F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will feature a state-of-the-art racing circuit with tunnels and many other highlights not available anywhere else in the world.

i am very disappointed at the boring and incompetent coverage on abu dhabi tv. i thought it would be much better than bahrain tv and aljazeera sports. but it wasnt. please tell your presenters haitham sheruki and nezar hamid to stop those racist comments about a khalijji championship, khalijji races, khalijji drivers, khalijji engineers, khalijji tv presenters ... F1 is an INTERNATIONAL sport! and not a local sport! ferrari is an italian team, but had a german & brazilian driver, a french team principal, a british race engineer and lots of international mechanics and teram staff. go home & do your homework first and understand the principal of F1 and motorsport before talking to tv audience again#####
