LAND ROVER HELPS EMERGENCY SERVICES DURING SEVERE WINTER WEATHER

Land Rover is known in many Middle Eastern and African countries for its unique driving capabilities in sand and on bad-condition roads. Same applies for its capabilities on snow, because this week Land Rover loaned two of its Discovery 4 models to the London Ambulance service, to help their stranded employees get to work. Dr Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover handed over the Land Rover vehicles, which will be invaluable in helping keep the service operating during one of the busiest times of the year.

Dr Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, comments: “When winter road conditions become treacherous, there is one manufacturer that the emergency services turn to – Land Rover. For many years, we have provided local police, ambulance services and recovery agencies with the loan of our vehicles to aid their work when faced with poor driving conditions. Land Rover vehicles offer the best in all terrain capability, making them the ideal vehicles for these winter conditions.�

Land Rover has over 60 years of experience developing supremely capable vehicles that boast four-wheel drive and pioneering technology such as Terrain ResponseTM helping to ensure peace of mind when travelling in wet and icy conditions.

Land Rover works with emergency services, police, and ambulance teams across the country. The company supplies a quarter of the global aid agency market and is involved in numerous important conservation programmes worldwide, which are hugely beneficial to local communities. Without the use of Land Rovers, some of their rescue missions or emergency operations would be impossible.

Land Rover has been known since 1948 Land Rover for manufacturing authentic 4x4s that represent true 'breadth of capability' across the model range. Defender, Freelander, Discovery, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover each define the world's 4x4 sectors, with 78% of this model range exported to over 140 countries. Land Rover employs 9,500 people and supports a further 40,000 jobs supported in the supply chain.

Land Rover is committed to addressing the challenges of climate change and since September 2006 carbon dioxide generated by Land Rover manufacturing activities and UK customer vehicle use has been balanced through an industry leading offset programme run by Climate Care.

Land Rover has quite a good reputation in most of the Middle Eastern and North African countries, while unfortunately it has quite a bad reputation and extremely unsatisfying customer service in a few countries such as Egypt, were it is represented through a company called MTI Egypt.
