PRICE IS RIGHT FOR NEW CHEVROLET AVEO - From only £9,995 on-the-road

The all-new Chevrolet Aveo is set to arrive in showrooms next January, with great value pricing to match its striking looks.

From only £9,995 for the 1.2 LS model, the Aveo builds on Chevrolet’s reputation for delivering great value for money – but it’s more than the keen pricing that will make it appeal to customers.

With its dramatic sculpted front end styling and imposing wedge-shaped profile, the New Aveo brings a sharp, edgy feel to the supermini segment.

“Much like we did with the Spark, we wanted to take the image of small cars away from being cute and cuddly,” said Chevrolet UK Managing Director Mark Terry. “Instead, we’ve delivered a car that’s striking, bold and has attitude. It draws on our iconic models, such as the Camaro and Corvette, for its styling influence, with cues such as the distinctive round headlamps and dual-cockpit interior giving it a lot more personality than you’d normally find in this sector of the market.”

Even in basic trim, the Aveo gets features such as remote locking, a rear spoiler, CD-stereo radio, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors and electric front windows.

The mid-range LT model adds more luxury features – 15-inch alloy wheels, steering wheel audio controls, air conditioning, a four-way adjustable driver’s seat, sunglasses holder, a Driver Information Centre, Bluetooth phone compatibility, and a chrome gear knob surround, yet is priced from a very competitive £10,995 on-the-road.

The top specification LTZ variant has features normally reserved for bigger and much more expensive cars, including a leather steering wheel, front fog lamps, rear parking sensors and automatic headlamps. Prices for the LTZ start at £12,195.

Four engines will be available from launch – a 1.2-litre petrol unit developing 86PS, a 1.4-litre petrol engine with 101PS or two 1.3-litre diesels, with power outputs of either 75 or 95PS. All come with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the 1.4-litre models have the option of a six-speed automatic.

Full technical specifications and equipment levels will be confirmed ahead of the car’s showroom debut in January 2012, while a full table of prices appears below.

Model Price
Aveo 1.2 LS £9,995
Aveo 1.2 LT £10,995
Aveo 1.4 LT Auto £12,375
Aveo 1.3 LT VCDi Ecodiesel (95g/km) £12,795
Aveo 1.3 LT VCDi 75PS £12,345
Aveo 1.4 LTZ £12,195
Aveo 1.4 LTZ Auto £13,195
Aveo 1.3 LTZ VCDi 95PS £13,615

Those prices include the local taxes in the UK. When imported to Egypt or the Middle East the prices should be much cheaper.

Poll

How do you evaluate the official Volkswagen importer and its service center in Egypt?
  • Very bad. Volkswagen needs a new representative in Egypt, preferably Dogus Auto from Turkey which was official VW Nutzfahrzeuge dealer in Egypt once before.
  • Bad. Volkswagen needs a new representative in Egypt, preferably a new importer from the Gulf region.
  • Average. But Volkswagen still needs a new 'Egyptian' representative or importer in Egypt.
  • Good. Egyptian Automotive Company and Karim El Naggar are doing a good job. Everything should stay the same.
