Comment: I own a touareg and this service centre is becoming worse by the minute, very rude staff and any advanced troubleshooting in the car they know nothing about and they say we will ask germany on four different incidents and they never get it fixed. I would never buy VW again under the current management

Comment: I have S80 model 2014. Since I received my car there is a general failure resulting of faults: Collision warning service required and Driver alert system service required. They performed several software updates and even changed the hardware piece and STILL the problem there! The response of Volvo company is so slow and unacceptable. I do not think that I should bare having such a car with a general failure like that for more than 9 months without being able to solve or even identify the problem.
Appreciate if you can help to solve such a case.

Comment: I went to CNA In kata yea last Friday to check the E 200 but due to the demonstrations on that day the sales guy asked me to come next day Saturday at 9 in the morning . I went on due time and no one showed up till 10:45 and kept looking for anyone from customer service but found no one there. I asked for the head of the branch and he was in vacation that day. When I asked for a phone number to complaint a sales rep appeared and told me he is the only one there . Anyways he took some time to find she car which was covered with dust and when I asked him about the specs of the car or comparison with the 5 series he knew nothing. He was quite poor is his knowledge about the car yet polite. I left with bad impression on Mercedes and abandoned the idea of egetting a mercedes

their stuff is unskilled and keeps misinforming the customers about their inquiries.
which will make you repay the price of the car again within a year after beying destroyed by their awful service , Warranty? you must be joking , whenever you ask about it they will keep on telling you that THIS PARTICULAR thing you are asking about right now is not included in the warranty , at the end you may discover that almost everything is not included! i have now to change my set of 4 tires for 3000$ due to their awful service call center which misinformed me about the tyre pressure i should keep my tires on
they told me that it should be 30! an d when the set of 4 tires were full of punctures due to the driving with a low pressure i went to Bridgestone where the engineer was shocked on how a car changes its tires on 4000 miles! even they were Run-flats which are the best also it is stated on the door that it should be kept on 38!!!

i trusted their service center so after 5 months, all tires are damaged and now i am stuck without a car due to their bad service and their lies !!!

Comment: I have a positive impression with EIM, starting with their call center to make a reservation, through the warm attitude and good listening for any complains before the receipt of the car, ending with the good quality of service.
However, I blame them for the limited number of service centers in Cairo; also, for the restricted services they provide during Fridays and Saturdays.
Currently, Renault have conquered allover Egypt by a fleet of vehicles of various models of different categories. Such invasion definitely will require to open many service centers with well trained and qualified technicians IF they are keen and willing to retain and improve their reputation and the ranking they have achieved in the country and to gain the customer satisfaction.

Comment: I have bought a Fiat Linea t-jet model 2009,

First bad experience was the Sales representative where he promised he will add Xenon and Parking Sensor to my car at no extra charge, while when the car was delivered after paying the full amount he mentioned he can't add them due to Car computer restriction.


2nd Major Issues are the after sales and service

Most of the spare parts are not available (brakes, Front Window, suspension and sparks)

Extremely slow service in the main branch (Gessr el Suez)

Spare parts are overpriced for the car range
Brakes cost around 700 LE and most of the time not available

The Agent request to change spare parts earlier then what is specified in the Car Manual
e.g belts are requested to be changed after 40000 although it is written to be changed at 60000 (and you will loose your warranty if you didn't do it)
Discs were requested to be changed at 40000 but I have changed them at 75000 in a working condition

There warranty is Illusion although that was one of the reasons I bought the car, The warranty was claimed to be 3 years with unlimited km.
But if any faults happened the customer will be blamed and you will get a very bad treatment just to convince you it is your fault,
E.g. they refused to replace my car horn which was faulty after a year claiming it is normal and it is not included in the warranty

Brake Discs needed to be replaced at 40000 although I change brakes early and in the Agent and they said this is normal

Comment: I bought Skoda Octavia Fantasia 2012 on Dec-2011 from Egypt ARTOC AUTO at Mokattam (Main Office)

I found following issues coming from Skoda Factory and I went to ARTOC AUTO main service center at Ghamra twice on 26-Dec-2011 and 31-Dec-2011 and they can not fix it as follow:

1- Steering wheel is deviated to right when driving the car:

They test drive the car by Eng. "Diaa AL Rahman" and find there is Steering wheel deviation to right.

I asked him if you are sure that you can fix it then do it. If you can not, please leave it as it is.

He said we can not see anything wrong on your car without fixing it. So i trust them.

When I received my car I found they did not fix steering wheel deviation and they scratched cover of steering wheel.

They paid 115 L.E as a compensation for scratched cover of steering wheel but they can not fix steering wheel deviation to right. They said it is NORMAL. This is Skoda Factory fault.

ARTOC AUTO main service center does not have the right tool to fix our car. They are not qualified to fix our cars.
We do not see our car when they took it inside their service center.
How can I trust then on my car for next services?
2- Passenger seat Backrest vibration when moving to back:

When moving backrest of passenger seat to back, it vibrates. When I checked in another new car, I found it working to back smoothly.
ARTOC AUTO Main service center said it NORMAL in my car which is not correct. They do not need to confess with this fault. This is Skoda Factory Fault.

Note:

1-When I received that Car from ARTOC AUTO main office at Mokattam, I found Washer fluid is at low level. They said it is NORMAL; you can fill it from water tap. All new cars should have full level of washer fluid.

They do not do full inspection for the new car before deliver to customers. This is bad thing.
2- ARTOC AUTO main sales office told me my RADIO does not have AM frequency. They said; it has only FM frequency. But I found there is AM Frequency. They do not know their car well.
3- ARTOC AUTO main service center takes around 2 weeks to explain to me how TPM system works. They do not know their car well.
4- I sent many mails for above issues to ARTOC AUTO main service center, they replied twice then they did not since 16-Jan-2012 till now. This is not good behavior from Service Center manager.
5-I tried to reach to Mr Mazhar EL Shiekh and Mr Pierre Forest with no use.
6- When I was visited ARTOC AUTO Main service center on 26-Dec-2011, I found one of customer lost his fire extinguisher from his car while he registered it at his entrance of Main service center. How can I trust my car inside ARTOC AUTO main service center?
Conclusion:
-I paid the full price of car cash and car has faults ARTOC do not need to confess it and they can not fix it. They provide car with faults to me. Also there is no qualified people and tools at main service center make scratch to my car based on above issues.
-ARTOC took full money cash, they said excellent work, but we can not see any excellent work!
-Based on warranty, it involve of repair only. But they can not repair based on above issues.
- I met GM of ARTOC AUTO Mr Ahmed Mehrez, he said to me : sell the car or complain at CPA Consumer Protection Agency
-I would like to refund my money back because they are not qualified to do their JOB in minor issues, so what will happen in major issues and in next services.

Comment: My name is Hany Tosson, I am Skoda customer in Egypt since 2006 when I bought my Octavia A5 car from Artoc Auto Group in Egypt which I was very happy and proud of it till last week.

As I used to do every 5000 KM to go to Skoda service center in 4 Tereet El Gabal St Dair El Malak, Cairo Egypt to do the normal service I went last week to do this normal service when I met the reception Eng. who asked me to leave the car and come at the same day later. During the day I received two phone call from the same Eng. who took my approval to change some of the parts which needed to be changed to maintain the same efficiency of the car (invoice attached). He asked me to come to the service center at 3 pm and when I arrived their he asked me to wait one hour and then at 5 pm he asked me to go home as the care maintenance didn't finish yet!!!!!!!!!

The day after I called him at 10 am and he asked me to come to take the car at 11 am. I went there and waited for him till 1.00pm when asked the customer service to meet the manager of the center accordingly I met Mr. Housien El Wardany Housien to complain about the bad time estimation of the car maintenance!!!!!!!!!!! He called the reception Eng. and another Eng. called Mohamed Atteia who started to whisper to Eng Housien and then they told me that the steering light in the car control panel is lighting and they both confirmed that this light was not on when I delivered the car the day before.

I tried my best to understand what happened and how but they all said that they don't know what happened. Eng. Housien El Wardany told me that he can give me 10% discount on the steering box replacement (total cost LE 11000 or $ 1800)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I attached to you copy of the car maintenance invoice when I paid more that LE 4000 or $680 and Eng. Housien El Wardany write on the invoice that he will give me this discount. I am sending you this complaint to ask you to kindly replace the steering box for free in my car to bring the car to the original condition when I deliver the car to your maintenance service center on the 6th of Feb 2012

Comment: I personally find it very disappointing when i have to visit the service center more than twice to solve the same problem especially that I know that Fiat is a big car manufacturer. i had a problem with my ABS due to a problem with me left side wheel and Omtra suggested that i need to change the drum because the ABS sensor is not working. i agreed to that and they changed everything but after i took the car i found that the ABS is still not working properly.
i received a follow up call from the CS team and i mentioned my complain and they promised that someone from the center will call and solve this... until this moment i did not receive a call from anyone.

After 2000 KM, the problems start with me, we arranged an appointment with care center .we received a wonderful reply, from the Engineers their (Do you believe that Germans make something bad) actually no comment).At 8723 KM, the DSG completely stop working, we went to Obour center, change the Micatronics after many days under supervision of Eng: Mohamed Ali
At 10177 KM faced the same problem plus the car never turned on, now the car was in Obour center since 16th January till now. Regarding Eng: Weal Baghdadi
Do you believe that I pay (205K) EGP in a shitty car like that that my wife drive it and stopping from her at night, I think if I buy 128 will be better for her and more safe

Eng. Mohamed Mourad called one of technical support who informed that the car need to be under investigation.
it is a joke that he just call after 8 days .Now i lost a lot as i rent a car all that days they refused to give me another car while finishing my giving me new car as i will not deliver that shitty car. I am asking for new one as i am not ready to send the cat for servicing every 5 days. i did not buy a German car to send it every 5 days for services otherwise i must safe my money and buy a Chinese car
i hope that you will be able to solve my problem as you already lost me as VW client as i am switching to Mercedes as more reliable cars at least in Egypt .
the VW agent in Cairo treat people as salves we have no rights we are not able to solve our problems with him, i have gold before in another countries but i can emphasis to you that your DSG 7 speed dry clutch is not suitable to Egypt\'s traffic and roads with that design you need to modify it more and work more in research for better design

Comment: To whom it may concern,
I bought my golf 2011 from Volkswagen Cairo, Egypt., last December it was fine until 1600 km were done and a flashing sign occurred '' check engine oil'' I took the car directly to the VW car service they checked the car and found that the engine oil is less than the normal, they took the car to the service and told me that this car didn't have a PDI check by mistake, so they refilled the engine oil and gave me back the car in an hour of time.

I thought the problem has ended at this point but 1000 km later or a bit more the same problem appeared again when the '' check engine oil'' sign appeared again on my display screen I did the same thing again and I took the car to VW service they checked the car manually and found the engine oil a bit less than the normal so they asked me this time to leave the car for a full day, to check the problem and get back to me. I left the car after I signed the required applications for the car details and I left.

Next day, I called the engineer who took the car from me and asked him what has he done, he said the car is ready you can come pick it up I told him I have to understand what is the problem with my car and what did you do he replied in an unconcerned way as if I have a small problem and I am over reacting.
I went there, and he told me that after getting back to VW Germany they were asked to refill the engine oil and they are asking me to come back after exactly 1000 km to check the engine oil.
I was so confused because this is not normal that a new car is checked twice for an engine problem and by asking the engineer there, about the previous steps he said if the problem occurred again we might replace your car engine and I told him I won’t agree to do so I have a new car and I won’t let you mess up with it because you don’t want to check it well and fix the problem, it doesn’t make sense.
I took the car as to examine it for a 1000Km, and get back to him
After that my 5000 KM service was due so I took the car to the service and off course the whole engine oil was changed. So even if the problem I have was going to occur it won’t because the engine oil is already refilled.
At the 10.000 KM I had the same problem again, the engine oil sign on the dash board appeared and this time I took the car the service but I asked the front office manager to look after my problem and I had to raise my voice because no one seemed to be keen, they took the car and checked it in front of me with their portable computer and then on a certain machine they use and asked me to come and see the car I went to the car in the service area, they showed me that the engine oil tank cover is not working good, damaged or has a manufacture disorder the point is that they replaced the tank cover and gave me the car as to comeback after 500 KM. They very rudely asked me to pay the fees for the oil they refilled but I definitely refused and didn’t pay anything.
I did what I was required and after the 500KM I went to the service to check the oil level and it was normal. Because the point is that the oil level decreases almost every 3000Km.
And now I’ve complete 4800 KM more kilos after my last visit to the service and the sign has occurred again ‘’ check oil level’’
The service is scheduled at the 16,000Km and I have used the car for 15,400 Km until now and I will not have this car serviced until my problem is solved because I won’t give them the chance to fool on me again and refill the engine oil and give me back a manufacture faulted car.

And by visiting the service center today the engineer there told me that my car engine has a manufacture failure and it probably will be replaced but he needs to get back to Germany to confirm what he's saying but he refused to text me with what he discovered.

Also I have a distortion voice in the gear box and the engineer is always telling me that this is a normal voice which I consider abnormal, as it shakes the car while on a steady positing (gear box on N).
After a long suffering trip with VW team in Egypt they called me and asked me to come for an engine replacement, I accepted this solution although it's not the best they can do or even did it well, I left my car for a whole month at their service center and 2 days after I got back my car the car engine brown down while I was driving and smoke came out of the engine and a high distortion voice came out of the engine, as I barely succeeded to park by the side of the road.
I called them, specifically the person who took the car from me for the engine replacement and asked him to send me a mobile service to see what’s wrong with the car he replied very stupidly, it happens and you can come visit us tomorrow at the service center and we will check the car I asked him for a mobile service to come and see the car immediately as I am stuck on the road, he replied that the service is not 24/7 and I have to wait to next day.

Next day he sent the mobile service to where the car was parked and they barely recognized the problem, which cased this engine to brake down and then one of them told me the problem was that the replaced engine wasn’t fixed correctly and we will take it to the workshop to have it prepared,

Comment: I have Hyundai Elantra, manual, model 2007 and I have an irremediable problem with the center lock of the car until now. First, you can find this problem in all 2007 models not only my car and they solved it in 2008,2009.. by bring the car from Korea with the original center lock. The problem is that they brought the car without the center lock and installed another one with very bad quality (made in china) to reduce the cost. Anyway, every time you use the center lock the inside handle of the doors are damaged and you can not open the door from the inside because the handle is broken and sometime you can open the door from the outside after close the center lock??? I went to Abou Rawash Service Center many times during the warranty and they changed the inside handle more than 6 times in three years. After the warranty was finished I discovered that I still have the same problem and they did not give me a solution. Now I cancelled all the handle and I feel that I am driving a fiat 128. I want the agency to change the center lock with the original one and tell me if I have any rights to ask for changing the center lock in each door.

The problem is that they brought the car without the center lock and installed another one with very bad quality (made in china) to reduce the cost. Anyway, every time you use the center lock the inside handle of the doors are damaged and you can\\\\\\\'t open the door from the inside because the handle is not broken and sometime after you can open the door from the outside after close the center lock ??? I went to Abou Rawash Service Center many times during the warranty and they changed the inside handle more than 6 times in three years. After the warranty was finished I discovered that I still have the same problem and they didn\\\\\\\'t give me a sloution. Now I cancelled all the handle and I feel that I\\\\\\\'m driving a fiat 128. I want the agancy to change the center lock with the original one.

I have buy a brand new Chevrolet Optra since 2005 and since ever, I do all its regular maintenance job at Al mansour main workshop at the desert road , Cairo.
In Feb.,2010 they did a motor job in my car and I visited them 3 times after this job, the last one of them is days before I had my engine lose out of its bases and fall aside on the gear box and the power steering machine .... yes , it went out of its base screws .... and this happened without a road crash and they examine the car and they agree there is no crash BUT, they said its not a regular maintenance job to check up the bases screws .... and fix this problem on my own .... this is happened by Jan., 2011.

3 days ago, I had a sudden error and transfer the car to them and now they ask me for changing the car motor computer , with my car 126,000 Km over more than 6 years .... and to do this , I have to pay 4600 LE !!!
Is this an accepted point of view with a GM customers world wide? or it’s a special attitude with this dealer?
By the way , the alarm lamb of the motor computer ( chevy cross signee ) is light of by engine start .. and the eng. told me they diagnose the defect by trying another car computer instead of mine and the car works ok so, this should be the problem .... that primitive way ?!

This is besides the way of Customer care staff to speak with customers roughly ..... I feel so displeasing to speak with their head ( M. el faramawy ) the most irritated person I ever met.

i have a complaint against fiat omatra as my car is in the service center since 26/9/2011 that's (37 days till now),

all this period getting the spare parts from italy as they say all the time which is a left rear door with all it's accessories,

also my first accident my car came back after 44 days because the radiator fan was faulty and they brought from italy in 44 days !!

it's really so disgusting car service center and please i want to find a solution for my problem


(That was a brief on the problem and i will write the details in the coming portion of the complaint


The Details :

i sent an email to Fiat italy as a complaint and this is a copy from it:

First of all i want to speak about my first deal with the car service center (OMATRA) which was really so terrible and so frustrating and made me disappointed :

I had an accident with my car at Alexandria,Egypt, and I went to (OMATRA) car service center in Alexandria to repair the car and change the faulty parts on Tuesday 26/7/2011, the faulty parts were (Radiator, A/C Condenser, Fan radiator and the front bumper),

Eng.Ahmed fouda was the person in charge who made the job order and he checked these parts to check availability in stock or not,

All the parts were available except the Fan radiator and he said that the next spare parts container that will come from Italy will be the next month so he will work to get the Fan with (DHL) speed delivery and he will send an email to the spare parts manager to approve the order and I should call him on next Sunday 31/7/2011 to check with him,

I called him and he said he didn’t get a reply from the manager yet, and he said that he will send him another email as he can only contact the spare parts manager by emails and he asked me to call him on next Wednesday 3/8/2011 ,

I accepted that and I called him and he said he didn’t get the reply yet and asked to call the next week, I told him that is not acceptable and he must find another way to contact the spare parts manager other than by emails, he said it’s the only option that he can do,

And I called the following week and it was the same, until Eng.Ahmed Fouda called me on Wednesday 31/8/2011 and he said that he received the Fan radiator and I will be able to take the car the next week,

I traveled to Alexandria as I am from Cairo which is 200 Kilometers away from Alexandria to take the car on Wednesday 7/9/2011, I checked the car before I take it, I found that the rear left lights are broken, I said I will not take the car unless they change the rear lights and they changed it immediately ,

Finally after 44 days I took my car, why it should take all that time to repair the car ?!! really it was so frustrating, and a waste of time, during this period I had to go anywhere with taxi and to pay for this a lot of money, and I started to be a detractor for fiat as for this inconvenience that I had with the service center.


I made another accident on Sunday 25/9/2011, I went to (OMATRA) car service center in Cairo to repair the car on Monday 26/9/2011, the faulty parts were (Rear left door with all it’s accessories, the lock of the front left door, and the left side body kit),

Eng.Mourad was the one who made the job order, and he told me that he will call me when the insurance company engineer meet him to discuss the Assay of repairing the car,

The insurance company engineer called me on Wednesday 28/9/2011 and he told me that he can not reach Eng.Mourad to make the Assay,

I told him to wait and I will call the service center, I called them and they transferred me to Eng.Mourad and he said that he is in his office and to tell the insurance engineer to enter the office to make the Assay,

I called the insurance engineer and told him that, I waited about 1 hour then called the customer care again to know how it’s going so far, the line was busy till 5 pm which the service center ends there work time,

I called the next day the line was busy all the time !!, I couldn’t reach anybody on both lines for the customer care !!,

I called them on Sunday 2/10/2011 and Mr.Mohammed Moustafa from customer care told me that Eng.Mourad is not here today and Eng.Ramy is responsible for the job and he will call me within 30 minuets,

I waited for 1 hour and I didn’t receive the call back so I called again and he told me that I will receive the call back within 30 min again as Eng.Ramy is testing a car, I waited for another 1 hour and I didn’t receive the call back,

I called again and I insisted to talk to him so he put him on the phone and Eng.ramy told me that he will check the job order and the Assay and he will call me within 30 min, I waited for another 1 hour and I didn’t receive the call back, I called him on his cell phone he told me that the Assay is not done yet with the insurance engineer,

I asked him and why Eng.Mourad didn’t call me to tell me that he didn’t meet the insurance engineer however I called him to tell him that he is outside the service center and he will enter his office to make the Assay and made me wait 4 days without any progress !!, really it was so frustrating,

I had to go again to the insurance company to let one of their engineers go to the service center again to make the Assay and it was really a waste of my time and losing business, I went to the insurance company the next day and they sent the insurance engineer in the same day on Monday 3/10/2011, after they done the assay I didn’t receive a call from the service center to tell me how its going so far!

I called again the gentleman from the customer care told me that the assay was done with Eng.Mahomoud and he is testing a car and I will receive a call back within 30 minuets,

I waited for 1 hour I didn’t receive the call back, I called them but the line was busy again till 5 pm !!!,

I went to the service center the next day and Eng.Mahmoud wasn’t there and they told me that Eng.Ramy will be responsible for that I met him and he got the assay and I asked him how many days it would take to repair the car ?,

He said that depends on the availability of the spare parts if they are available in stock or not,

I asked him if they are available in stock or not, he said that most of the parts are available in stock and to call him on next Sunday 9/10/2011 to know which parts are out of stock and to know how many days it would take to repair the car,

Really I don’t know how OMATRA is your main distributor and agent in EGYPT and the spare parts are always out of stock !!, its so disgusting, anyhow I told him that I cant reach them and also I never receive a call back from you, he asked me to call him on his cell phone at 12 pm and he will answer,

I called him on Sunday and he said that (The interior furnishing of the car, the lifting accessory of the glass, and the front left lock) are out of stock and he doesn't know when they will be available in stock and he doesn’t know who could know something like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called Eng.Mahmoud he told me the same he doesn't know when they will be available in stock and he doesn’t know who can answer the question !!!!!!,
Really I am so frustrated from all of that and please find a solution for this,

I don’t know how the main distributer and an agent for a big company like FIAT all the spare parts are always out of stock from them, I don’t know how the rear left light is damaged while it’s in the service center, I don’t know how they have a disgusting customer care like this, how is line is always busy for the whole day, how I don’t receive a call back when I was advised to receive a call back, really I became a detractor for Fiat brand because of that bad service center


Please I want to find a solution for this problem, and to be solved as soon as possible

Comment: Last Thursday i had a regular maintenance every 5000 km in ma2ar service center , next day i found that the car air condition is not working well (no cooling) while it is the first time to facing any problem with the air condition..

after two days i went to the service center again claiming for this problem , they asked me to visit the center on another day but exactly at 08:00 am in order to start the maintenance from the day beginning !!

I did that after another two days, they did the required check and told me that the COMPRESSOR needs to be changed with a total cost of 2000 LE and also the new compressor is not available!!!!!

I guess that some one replaced my compressor with a damaged one during the maintenance but i have no evidence (only doubts) .. what should i do now?

One of them in the HO “Sahrawy” because my car paint start erased and they asked me to go to the Sahrawy to fix it covered by the guaranty, and after reserve time with the call center and go there, they refuse and sad to me come the next week.
The other time was in the Tayran, to fix the A\C. the call center confirmed to me to go direct as I have problem in the car and not regular maintenance. Also the refuse and asked to do the reservation with EL-Tayran phone number. And after escalation the customer service sad that the engineer check my car and it need more than one days to be fix (no one check the car).

As the famous radio station FM 100.6 was advertising Komodo car on the year 2009 and being sponsored by El Hay3aa El Arabia Lel Tasni3, besides providing this car with very competitive price by that time, was my motives to buy this car on year 2009.
The distributor I have bought the car from was El Kasrawy in Dokki/ Mohandessen. Every thing was perfect till I bought the car on 2009.
It was revealed to me by owning practice that this car is not matching any specifications and many troubleshootings came out for functionality of this car during the ellapsed two years.
The Auto Gate Egypt, Agent of this car, has a reputation of a thief that has sold this car and currently all service center and the agency itselfself had closed sice april- June 2011 after the revolution and lately I knew that he has been agent to the EBD cars.
Actually I have made complain to consumer protection agency on the July 2011, as well a police station MAHDAR ESBAT HALLA, and I am intending to raise a case in court to return back my money and a compensation for losses due to purchasing this car from this fake agent saler.
Appreciate your support for the benefit of repulsing the corruption in Egypt by making a report in ALL Newspapers for this Agent Auto Gate and to enable us to be gathered at your esteemed company to organize our effort and to amke sure that this phenomena is stopped in Egypt.

I had a very bad experience with Daihatsu service center:
THEY NEVER CHECK ANY THING IN THE CAR either if you tell them or not. This conclusion was due to the following experience:
1- I informed them in the 1st 1000 km that there was an oil leakage from the brake distributor which caused a lot of dust to stick to it. They neglected my note and never even follow-up in 10’000 km until I found a great leakage from it which turned on the brake oil lamp in the dash board when the car reached 27000 km. I went to the maintenance and they only tightened the break pipe connectors to the distributer (they said it was loose). After the service finished I asked them about the damaged paint due to the brake fluid leakage (as we all know), they said that the fluid did nothing to the paint!! So I took the engineer to the car and showed him that the paint became weak and it can be removed by hand scratching. The engineer was in an awkward situation (he lies to the customer depending on customer’s lack of technical information). How can you trust such service center??
2- During 40'000 km service, they removed the air filter container to clean the main throttle input. When they put back the air filter container they did not tie the installation screw which allows air to go directly to through the throttle with dust because it bypassed the filter.
3- During 40'000 km service, they change all the fluids. They billed me for 2.5 Liter of rear differential oil, while the car takes only 1.7 Liter as written in the service manual.
4- During 40’000 km service, they ignored the oil leakage from the gear box pan and from the motor oil pan.
5- During 40’000 km service, I reported that there are problems in the suspension and its dampers. When they finished the service, they said that everything is ok. I do not know how since they don’t have the damper test machine. Also and they did not removed the dampers to check it visually.

Finally I had to buy new rear suspension chocks and install it by myself.

Comment: On Tuesday 16/8/2011, I sent my 2009 C180 to regular B1 maintenence in the KAtamya service center. The receiption engineer (Peter Magdy)told me that the rear brake lining were bad and the front too , although they were chenged less than 20,000 KM before. Then he contacted me and told me that the front brake disks are damaged and the performance will be less than the standards of Mercedes Benz and he told me that they had to be changed . I inspected the disks and they do not seem to be that bad. Taking into consideration that the car milage is only 36000 KM, I do not expect that a mercedes will need to change the brake disk, SO I believe that either the car has a problem or the service center are thieves.

Comment: I own a Peugeot 307, oil was leaking from the oil filter cup, i was sure that the filter and the cup was not correctly sealed or the oil seal was bas, i took the car to the service center located in abu rawash and i informed them that i only need to check the oil seal and the oil filter for leakage.
after 2 hours they called me and said "Noooo, the filter and the oil seal are ok, its the oil filter harness (a3det filter el zeet)" i was like huhh its the first time to hear such a problem, i had many cars before never heard of such thing, in the end ok i have no other option change that thing, their reply was no its not available in non of the warehouses and u can order it by plan or by DHL minimum delivery after 2 weeks, are you kidding me !!! how can such a normal part (according to their comment) is not available at the authorized distributer?! any how, i told them that i'll try to look for that part "estirad" coz i need my car on daily bases.
after searching for the part for 2 days with no chance of finding it, i went back to the service center and told them "AGAIN" to just change the filter and i'll take care of the oil measure till this part is available, they told me ok just pay the bill and we'll get the car right away, i was shocked to see that for changing the oil filter and checking the "a3det filter el zeet" i paid 600 LE !!!! ironically i had no other option but to pay or i wont take back my car !!! the surprise is the car is running perfectly and no leaking occurred again !!

Comment: i faced a problem with my car control unit called the EIS and i went to gas to fix it, they told me that they have to order this part from the mother company in Germany and i have to pay for it first and i will receive it in one month that was on the 7th of may till now they didn't get me the spare part, i went several times to the station and met the manager every time he gives me a date and ensure me that it will be delivered and every time he is wrong. i dont know how this station can represent a company like mercedes. its a very bad service center.

i have bought grand punto model 2007in feb 2008. they said the the new generation of fiat is much better and to be compared with European cars such as minicooper, seat ibiza etc...sails man told me that the garantee will be for three years but i shocked. that it's only 1 year in service center (where they give you the garanti for the first time ) as well my car was produced is the model of 2007.even if i bough the car in 2008 .

another issue that spare parts are much expensive and not durable at all, many mandatory parts are going down early and not always available. the periodical maintenance are much expensive than the European cars.

Comment: I have a Passat 2010 TSI baseline which i bought in June 2010.
And I have two incidents worth mentioning:
1. After driving it for 50,000 km i started having problems with the turbo charger. i experienced power loss every now and then, the RPM didn't go above 3000. i went to the service center and they diagnosed the car with Faulty Turbo charger, we ordered the part before I left and i was promised a 14 day wait for the part to arrive and one more day for replacement.
I received a call after six days only from the service engineer informing me that the part arrived and was replaced and that the car was ready for pick-up. I paid nothing because the car was in warrantee.
2. I took my car to the CAR wash I rehab called PERFECT for an expensive and thorough wash after having my car out of the pain job, the nice people at the car wash poured chemicals in the window control panel at the driver’s door which caused an electronic glitch for the 4 buttons, they also managed to get in some of their soap in the hand brake button which made the HAND BRAKE sign in the dashboard to appeared. I took the car to VW and checked it in and asked for the parts to be replaced, I went the next day and picked up my car and wa pleased to learn that they replaced the window panel of the driver’s door and the hand brake switch for free as a part of the warrantee.
I believe that this is a very good performance by VW. I heard from my friends bad stories about VW’s service in Egypt, but until now, I rate their service center 8/10

Comment: I bought Aveo Model 2011 on April 2011, The driving Stear after one month started to loose its color even before completing 5000 Km Not only the colour it started to decay . I called Al Awad group which is the authorized service center, after 3 months negotiations they told me that the request have been refused !!!! With no reasons , I called mansour official service they told we can't do anything maybe u r leaving ur car in the sun !!! Although iam still in warrantee period , the car from inside seems like an old 80's Car ,Very bad service and they never called just wait and wait then refused , and I have all documents to prove this !!!

Comment: I own a VW Golf 5.
Few months after i bought the car i started hearing a noise during steering at low speeds.
I took the car to the dealer and according to their diagnosis i had to change the steering gear box.
Fortunately the warranty was still valid.
When i went to receive the car they made me pay around EGP 700 (even though the car was still under warranty).
I asked for any document showing that steering gear box was changed but they refused.
Few days later the same noise reappeared.
I took the car again and the new diagnosis was a problem in suspension and they finally fixed it.
Based on this experience I can conclude the following complaints:
1) VW service crew failed to diagnose real problem and changed a major part without any reason. What if the warranty was over and i had to pay the full cost EGP 15,000??
2) I had to pay some fees although the car was under warranty
3) I could not get any proof that this major item was changed in my car. (only proof is the company's database)
4) when i sent my complaint to VW headquarters they simply asked me to contact customer service of the local dealer!! Does this mean that if I have a problem with them I have no one else to complain to?

VW is a great brand, but I guess the local service level does not match.
