Total Egypt (TE) celebrated yesterday (24.03.2015) the signing of an exclusive five-year mutual partnership agreement with ALJ Auto Jameel, one of the leading automotive distributor in Egypt and the sole agent in Egypt for the renowned Daihatsu and Ford passenger automobile brands as well as Hino Motors, a leader in the heavy and medium-duty truck category. Nearly 50 guests attended the celebration, including senior management from both companies.

Based on this agreement, Total Egypt will exclusively provide ALJ Auto Jameel with a range of its superior Performance Engine Oils including (Quartz Family, Rubia Family, Cooling and Transmissions Oils and other fluids).

According to the agreement, all Ford automotive vehicles in Egypt including both passenger and commercial vehicles, will benefit from Total’s Performance Engine Oils protecting engines from wear, transmitting power and facilitating gear shifting. Total’s innovative products are specially designed for fuel savings, environmental protection and enhancing engine’s performance.

Total Egypt will provide ALJ Auto Jameel with all the technical support and training required to ensure that all staff nationwide implement international standards guaranteeing an exceptional customer experience.

Total has been present in Egypt since 1975. In addition to its Exploration & Production affiliate, the group is present with its Marketing & Services affiliate created in 1998, second largest international company in term of market share (approximately 15%). The group is also active in the chemical specialties field with an adhesives plant from the company Bostik started in 2012.

Abdul Latif Jameel is a prestigious company that has a vast experience in the automobile field as its history in Egypt went through very important stages.

In 1999, ALJ established the United Trading Company as its first footprint in the Egyptian automotive market, and it has been known for providing customers with direct consumer financing programs. Its program, “El-Mobasher”, is one of the unique and distinguished mechanisms launched by the group in order to reflect its strategy that is based on principles of transparency, trend and diversity, in addition to providing the fastest and easiest service.

In 2006, the group launched its second subsidiary in Egypt, namely “Daihatsu Misr co. LTD” as the sole distributor of the Japanese brand “Daihatsu”. It also owns ALJICO Misr, which it launched in 2009, that represents Hino Motors in Egypt, which is a leading Japanese trucks builder. Worth mentioning, that both brands follow the global renowned “TOYOTA”, which is known for its robust and efficient cars.

In March 2014, Abdul Latif Jameel Group announced becoming the exclusive agency for “Ford” in Egypt. It aims at bringing Ford to the top of the Egyptian market by 2017. The group also started deploying its entry strategy by building the infrastructure around ALJ’s unique power in aftersales and consumer finance in order to provide an exceptional service to Ford owners, not to mention that it deals with a major network of authorized distributors across Egypt.
