EPA: VW, Porsche, Audi 3.0-liter diesels also have 'defeat devices! German automaker denies EPA allegations
Auto Arabia editor-in-chief Mohamed Sheta had already predicted in several TV interviews during the past few weeks on BBC Arabic TV and Al Ghad Al Araby TV, that other diesel engines from the Volkswagen group as well as from other car manufacturers would probably be using such defeat devices. Now this causing even more trouble to the German automaker than it already has been suffering over the past weeks.
The US environmental agency said emissions “defeat devices” were used on the 2014 VW Touareg, 2016 Audi A6 Quattro, A7 Quattro, A8, A8L, Q5, as well as the 2015 Porsche Cayenne powered by the automaker’s 3.0-liter diesel engine. Previously, only models using VW’s 2.0-liter diesel were involved.
So far all the following VW Group models are currently involved in U.S. emissions scandal:
Models with affected 3.0-liter diesel:
• Volkswagen Touareg (MY 2014)
• Porsche Cayenne (MY 2015)
• Audi A6 Quattro (MY 2016)
• Audi A7 Quattro (MY 2016)
• Audi A8 (MY 2016)
• Audi Q5 (MY 2016)
Models with affected 2.0-liter diesel:
• Jetta (MY 2009 – 2015)
• Jetta Sportwagen (MY 2009-2014)
• Beetle (MY 2012–2015)
• Beetle Convertible (MY 2012-2015)
• Audi A3 (MY 2010–2015)
• Golf (MY 2010–2015)
• Golf Sportwagen (MY 2015)
• Passat (MY 2012-2015)
