WORLD PREMIERE OF LEXUS LS 460 ALL-WHEEL DRIVE AT MOSCOW MOTOR SHOW
One of the successful car manufacturers in the Russian market is Lexus. That’s probably one of the reasons why on 26 August, the new LS 460 All-Wheel Drive will make its world premiere at this year’s Moscow International Motor Show and not in Paris, Los Angeles or Detroit.
Lexus is saying in its press release that he LS 460’s outstanding performance, sure-footed dynamic abilities and advanced active safety systems have been further strengthened by the addition of permanent all-wheel drive.
The all-wheel drive system is a three differential configuration featuring a highly compact TORSEN® Limited Slip Differential (LSD) – shared with the LS 600h - which distributes drive torque between the front and rear axles with a 40:60 rear axle bias in torque distribution.
Lexus hopes with the all-wheel drive version of the LS 460 to attract more clients which would have opted for a Mercedes S-Class 4-Matic, an Audi A8 Quattro or a Volkswagen Phaeton 4-Motion because of the all-wheel drive system.
The LS 460 AWD will go on sale in the UK and Europe from early 2009, but so far it is not clear yet if and when the LS 460 AWD will be offered in the Middle East region.
