Å KODA FABIA vRS BREAKS SEVEN NATIONAL SPEED RECORDS WITH FIFTH GEAR
But in the UK the situation is totally different, where Fifth Gear presenter Jonny Smith made full use of the Fabia vRS' standard 7-speed, twin-clutch gearbox and its 0-62mph time of just 7.3 seconds to break seven national records for time taken to cover 5km, 5 miles, 10km, 10 miles, 50km, 50 miles and 100km in its class at Millbrook Proving Ground's high speed bowl in September.
Thanks to its state-of-the-art direct injection, supercharged and turbocharged engine, the Fabia vRS produces 180bhp from just 1.4-litres, perfect for smashing the MSA Class F British speed record for 1,100 to 1,500 cc petrol engined cars.
The ? koda Fabia vRS broke the records that have stood for over 20 years thanks to its 139mph top speed, while Jonny Smith described it as “a car I could trust with my life, thanks to its standard six airbags, ESP (including ABS, MSR and ASR) and strong safety shell.
Despite its outstanding performance, the Fabia vRS achieves an equally astonishing 45.6mpg combined.
We are so far quite impressed with our long-term test-car, which is called here in Egypt Skoda Fabia Mini. With only 4.000 km left to finish the 50.000 long-term distance, stay tuned for a very interesting Fabia long-term test which is the first of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East.
