Harley-Davidson Recalls Dyna FXDL For Vibration-Related Electrical Issue
The Milwaukee-based motorcycle company announced that 8,060 units of the H-D Low Riders could stall while riding due to a potentially defective ignition switch. The 2014-2016 model year Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider are being recalled for possible electrical system ignition switch issue related to vibration.
THE RECALL: Harley-Davidson Motor Company (Harley-Davidson) is recalling certain model year 2014, 2015, 2016 Dyna Low Rider motorcycles (FXDL 103) manufactured from January 6, 2014 to April 7, 2016. In the affected motorcycles, engine vibrations may damage the ignition switch internally and, as a result, the engine may shut off while riding.
WHAT COULD HAPPEN: If the engine shuts off, the motorcycle could stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
THE FIX: Harley-Davidson will notify owners, and dealers will install an improved ignition switch, free of charge.
The recall began on June 3, 2016. Owners should contact their local Harley-Davidson customer service. Harley-Davidson's number for this recall is 0168.
